Image processing is used for many different applications and situations. Scanned negatives, camera-captured images, X-ray films, microscopy images and other images can benefit from image processing. Most labs have Photoshop which can do what is needed for many situations. However, for those really tough images where detail is lacking or for adding color to B/W grey scale images which may help researchers and viewers find seemingly hidden details, our specialized image analysis algorithm programs can make a big difference.

Images contain far more information than our eyes can discern. Lucis views each image as a unique set of relative contrasts. Lucis is a translator, making visible those contrast variations you wish to see while diminishing the contrast variances not of interest. Lucis shifts the emphasis of contrast variations but does not throw away image data.

Lucis is the easiest and most accurate way to reveal detail and create artistic effects. The results are amazing.

Using only one variable, the Enhance Detail slider, Lucis enhances detail in the dark, bright, and mid-range contrast areas simultaneously. The Smooth Detail slider is used to do the same thing only in reverse--to diminish contrast variances. Two simple controls provide incredible ability to determine what aspects of the image to make visible. Frequently, Lucis reveals beautiful artistic variations of the image that were never imagined. Additionally, if you find that certain slider combinations produce re-useable results, you can save these values as presets for easy one click reuse.

Lucis can also be used to pseudo colorize b/w grey scale images that are scanned from negatives, prints or plates.
